Rehabilitation Strategies for the Neurological Patient: Stroke & SCI

Physiotherapy plays a key role in the rehabilitation of persons with spinal cord injuries and stroke supporting their reintegration into society. 

This 2 Day Course will  be conducted in two sessions on October 23rd and 24th, 2021. 

Day1:

Stroke Rehabilitation is a key component of physiotherapy care, therefore it is important that clinicians are sufficiently confident and skilled in the basic application for the recovery of their patients. Participants will integrate neuroplasticity and motor learning principles in order to design appropriate treatment strategies for stroke patients.  Evidence-based strategies will be explored and with case- based discussions and examples participants will transfer the relevant techniques to their patient -care.

Day 2:

Spinal Cord Rehabilitation is a very important aspect of neurorehabilitation. Physiotherapy plays a key role in the rehabilitation of persons with spinal cord injuries and their reintegration into society, therefore it is important that clinicians are sufficiently confident, knowledgeable and skilled in the basic application for the recovery of their patients. Participants will integrate their knowledge of principles of assessment and exercise and expand their capacity to design appropriate treatment strategies for patients with spinal cord injuries. Evidence-based strategies will be explored and with case-based discussions and examples participants will transfer the relevant techniques to their patient-care.
