Rehabilitation for Patients with COVID-19: Acute Care to Home Health

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Clinical care is evolving in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2. There is an unprecedented volume of new knowledge that isbeing published in professional journals. This seminar provides key evidence based considerations applicable to the physical and occupational therapist in serving as frontline workers in this pandemic era. The course accentuates the pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis for patients with COVID-19.

Rehabilitation considerations for patients with acute respiratory distress and post intensive case syndrome (PICS) along with the effects of multimorbid disease on COVID management provide therapists with a contemporary best practice approach for treating these complex patients along the continuum of care.
