About the Event
This course will equip practitioners with the necessary skills and knowledge to proficiently assess, manage, and prevent common sporting injuries that affect the foot and ankle complex.Â
The course emphasizes a strong foundation in anatomy and biomechanics while incorporating the latest evidence-based practices in the field. By the end of the training, participants will gain increased confidence in evaluating injuries and making informed decisions regarding the safe return to sport for their patients. Â
Participants will learn about risk factors, common mechanisms of injury, and effective preventive measures. They will develop strategies for injury prevention through proper training techniques, footwear selection, and strengthening and conditioning exercises specific to the foot and ankle complex. We will use case studies to help practitioners progress their rehabilitation of common ankle injuries, and determine the readiness of athletes to return to sport safely, considering factors such as injury severity, healing progress, functional capabilities, and individualized rehabilitation goals.
Key Objectives:
- Understand key components of anatomy and biomechanics of the foot and ankle.Â
- Present and demonstrate a streamlined, evidence-based approach to foot ankle ankle assessmentÂ
- Highlight common conditions affecting the foot ankle and their etiologyÂ
